My Own Will is a fresh-faced, metal/hardcore quartet that hails from Detroit, Michigan. Even though the group just got its start last year, they’re already lightyears ahead of many of their peers in the scene (and even some of their elders) when it comes to crafting hard-hitting songs that stick in your head, heart and guts. Their new single/lyric video for “Deep Blue” is the third release from 2015’s debut EP Ghosts.
Outside of releasing their debut, they’ve filmed and released two performance videos and have toured with The Convalescence and I, Apollo. With momentum in their favor, the band has crafted the lyric video for “Deep Blue”, the final song on Ghosts. “The song lyrically is about watching someone you care about sink into a pool of self-destruction, whether that self-destruction involves alcoholism, drug addiction, or even a toxic relationship. It is about being powerless, and unable to save your loved one from drowning themselves,” says vocalist David Keoppen.
My Own Will is going to continue to steamroll their way through the heavy music landscape, with no signs of slowing down in the foreseeable future. Along with plans for a new tour in the works, they’re heading into the studio before the end of the year and will release their follow-up to Ghosts in the summer of 2017.
