When explaining your music to someone who hasn’t heard it, how do you describe your music?
It’s pretty much a roller coaster ride…..definitely moody and diverse, while maintaining a heavy and aggressive stance.
What originally got you into music ? If there is a story, please share!
My mom raised me up on a lot of different stuff….as a baby I would go to sleep to Sabbath, Zeppelin, Floyd, etc. And then she would play Motown, Southern Rock, Country, and more so a lot of my different tastes in music I definitely owe to Mom…..thanx Mom! Lol
Do you happen to recall the first time you performed, and can you please tell us about it?
The first live show I ever played was at The Cafe Bar on the boardwalk in Long Branch, NJ back in 1991, and well, let’s just say that nervous was an understatement…I must have used the bathroom like 7 times before our set and performed in a paralytic state….but it felt unlike anything I’d ever experienced, and I never looked back!
Do you have a song that means the most to you? And if so, can you please share the story of that song?
There are many, but one song in particular is “Wishing Well” off of the Dio era Sabbath album “Heaven and Hell”….it speaks to me, and I’ve always felt it was honest, real, deep, and heartfelt. Even hearing it over the years, the feeling still remains when I hear it….\m/
Do you have a song that is your favorite to perform? And if so, why?
I love all of our songs for different reasons so there really isn’t one i could single out.
What does your guys’ writing process look like ? Any funny stories from your last recording session?
The way we create varies. Sometimes it’s all of us working out parts together or someone may have a song that we work on or a lot of the time it’s about improv jams that we vibe on at rehearsals that turn into some really good material down the road…though we can be fun and lighthearted we tend to take writing a little more seriously so I can’t say I’ve got anything funny for u story wise …sorry!
What is your favorite food to eat while on tour?
Pizza always rules…just sayin.
What is something that your fans would be surprised to learn about you?
I’m a total nerd (lol).
What was the funniest thing that happened to you guys as a band in 2016?
Probably when Puma decided to cut off his hair lol.
What was the best thing that happened to you guys as a band in 2016?
We had a great year full of awesome shows, but I would say playing with the Deftones and having our video for “The Dark Unknown” premiere on Revolver Magazine’s website to help spread the word were among my faves.
What does 2017 look like for you? What can fans expect to see/hear from you?
Releasing our album ‘Placid Black’ and working our way to a town near you!
