Celeb Car Crash – Nicola Briganti – October 26, 2016!

When explaining your music to someone who hasn’t heard it, how do you describe your music?

It’s a powerful mix of Rock, Grunge, and Punk with some shades of Alternative Metal…

It’s a big mess! hahah! We love to create music with a modern sound but with ’90 attitude.

What originally got you into music?  If there is a story, please share!

We started in our teen years. We bought CDs, loved to see live concerts, and started to play instruments influenced by Rock music. We are from different cities, so four years ago I went with Carlo Alberto to the Naima Club, where Michelangelo was playng with another band… We talked, I had some demos, and…Bang!  Two months later Simone was in the band and Michelangelo pushed us to the limit to name the band as “Celeb Car Crash”.

Do you happen to recall the first time you performed, and can you please tell us about it?

As Celeb Car Crash, it was in our homeground club Vidia. It was a big club, and our legs were shaking because artists such as: Foo fighters, Jeff Buckely, Helmet, etc. had all played there. It was thirty minutes of adrenaline, sweat, and laughs! What a day!

Do you have a song that means the most to you?  And if so, can you please share the story of that song ?

Well, maybe it’s “Because I’m Sad”, I mean, songs are like sons, you cannot have a favorite one, but “Because I’m Sad” was the song that Virgin Radio Italy played and in Italy Virgin Radio is the biggest Rock Radio Network. We recorded the song in London, UK. because we won the Red Bull Contest. We had airplay, and we toured with Lacuna Coil. It’s a catchy song that gave us some great exposure. It’s a melencholic song that talks about feeling good to start again and to feel alive and breathe after a painful breakup with a girlfriend I was in love with…all mixed up with a “Shiny” Riff…

Do you have a song that is your favorite to perform?  And if so, why?

No favorite songs… Please don’t make us choose. We like to play all the “People Are the Best Show” songs because they are brand new.

What does your guys’ writing process look like?  Any funny stories from your last recording session?

It all starts with some riffs and lyrics no matter who comes up with the right idea, then we start working together. Through the years we have found out that, generally, all lyrics are written by Nicola and then we put the words and music together as a band. At first we fought to put “Because I’m Sad” on the album because we realized that it has a potential “Pop Mood”, and Simone said “It’s the f….. worst song we’ve written in our entire lives” then you know the story…

Do you try and stay true to your genre? If so, why? If not, how does mixing it up look like?

We try to stay true, but we have an extended music background so we can include different kinds of music and arrangements. We do what we like and we like what we do like Andrew W.K. said.

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

Mike Patton, Trent Reznor, Dave Grohl, Josh Homme

What is your favorite food to eat while on tour?

Pizza

What is something that your fans would be surprised to learn about you?

We like to play a game Called “Sbomboni”.

We are Nerds.

We Hate Juventus F.C.

Is there a question you wish someone would ask you?  If so, please ask it and answer it!

Are you happy guys ? Yes we are happy.

What does the rest of 2016 look like for you? What can fans expect to see/hear from you?

We have the Italian tour and we hope to be as busy in 2017 as we were in 2016.

Thanks again guys for the interview!  -graci
